Blog Post #3: Privacy Ted Talks

After listening to all of the ted talks, my life definitely does not feel as private as it did before. The talk about phone tapping was definitely scary and made me feel like I need to lookout for my own privacy more than I already do.

People can find out a lot from just one social media post. Someone can find out your age, your name, your hometown, and even where you go to school just based off of a social media profile, and that is very scary to me. This also makes me think about when parents post their children on social media, someone could find out a lot of information about that child, and not always have good intentions behind it.

There are many ways a persons privacy can be disrupted. From an online post, their phone being hacked, someone seeing them driving out in public, and even just a food delivery. I have my own car and a license, and the thought of someone seeing me driving in public and knowing it is me by my car, definitely makes me feel uneasy.

I feel as though the government should be doing more about online privacy because the amount of people getting hacked online or getting spam texts are getting out of control in my opinion. They could do more to monitor the online safety of society, and make sure that these texts and calls do not keep scamming innocent people.
